Nothing About Us, Without Us

Imagine attending a women’s conference, and seeing panel after panel of “experts” who are all cis-men with degrees in Women’s Studies. In fact, there are no women experts at all because women are believed to be too unreliable and “hysterical” to properly educate people on the experiences and needs women. Which is also why Women’s Studies courses are exclusively taught by men and use textbooks that are written by men.

Imagine the entire world categorically ignoring the voices of women everywhere and listening to these “experts” (and the male family members of women) for insights and guidance on women’s issues instead.

This is the reality that that Autistics face today.

We are the experts on us.
